who designates the best new music stamp?
If enough staff reviewers rate it high enough I believe

"Prince" uses a White Pony-era bass line laden with chorus to introduce a strange, ugly motive only to have the trebly, melodic guitar sitting in the background blossom into a full-on lead part in the chorus, driving the track away from the grainy, gurgling bass line.
That's a long fucking sentence dude

This is one Deftones' greatest albums, second only to Around the Fur. and imo one of hard rock/metal's greatest releases in the past ten years. Every song on this album is breathtaking. Each song has its own style, emotion, energy and beauty. The tones, amidst adversity and sorrow managed to channel all that was going on in their life and translate it into Diamond Eyes. A remarkable feat and one worthy of the tag "classic". I absolutely love this band. They cant do wrong.

You didn't get a sense of fanboyism at all? hahahaha At least this is enjoyable fanboyism to read.

back on the subject of torrents, you know you can stop them from seeding to other IPs right? I guess it depends on what client you use.. just use utorrent, it's pretty customizable.

As with any of their albums there are tracks that I like a whole lot and some tracks that are sorta meh. I found that with this album I'm liking the softer tracks a lot more than the heavier ones. Perhaps because Stephen handled the guitar duties on this release? I'm not sure...
I hope they release Eros some day... it would be nice to hear.

This may have already been said, and I'm aware that this album is much heavier overall than SNW; but does anyone notice how much better Chino's screams sound on this album than SNW? His screams in songs like Rapture and Rats!Rats!Rats! and Combat were good, but sounded a little forced. His screams on this album reaffirm my faith in my favorite screamer. Such an epic album

yes, his screams definitely sound better on this one. They sounded weak and scratchy on SNW.
booyahachieved: Stephen handles guitar duties on all their albums, right? Unless you're talking about when Chino plays the occasional part..

yeah that's what I was thinking too. If Steph's not handling the guitar parts on their old albums, who the hell is? lol. Chino didn't even really master rhythm guitar enough to appear on an album till White Pony.
And back to Inveigh, I agree, his screams were getting towards the weaker side on Wrist, but are seriously top notch on this album. I don't know why I expected any less from the Tones, but I'm already digging this more than any Deftones album in recent memory. It's also somehow making me appreciate the rest of their catalog all the more
