Lol, the review wasn't THAT bad, and the resulting thread is far worse. He has a few good points he just hasn't put them together in a coherent way.
A few tips dude
1. Get your facts straight (always make sure what you're saying is correct, never assume anything)
2. Combine those tiny paragraphs, its really annoying to read two lines and then have a gap.
I think you actually described the music fairly well, even if it was a little harsh, and if you had combined it with the two points listed above I would have pos'd.
A lot of the guys here loathe you because of the fact that you ignored 1 and got your facts wrong and then tried to back up said facts with even worse ones.
Butthurt fanboys will jump on any excuse to slaughter you and your crappy opinions which you hold so dear.

not gonna say this band isn't way over-hyped, but this one definitely doesn't warrent a 1.5.
This made Pantera's success skyrocket overnight and gave Abbott the title of "guitar god" posthumously - that comment should have been left out, really hurts your case here...otherwise, I'll give a bit of props for rockin' this knowing you'd get nothing but a backlash...still, like others have mentioned, the hate works better when you can back it up.

Other bands' formulas may have influenced nu metal, but none quite so much as Pantera. Downtuned chugging chords?
Yeah because nu metal had all those crazy solos and complex riffs... Yeah... And for the most part, Dime tuned his guitars a smidge under standard. He may have tuned down a step on Trendkill, but I'm not 100% on that. His "chugging chords" were dispersed throughout songs, some of which had nearly none. While most nu metal bands relied on them solely. Rantview sucks.

Yeah.
That barricade in Cleveland at Blossom Music Center that I watched get slammed over during Pantera's set in 2000 was only because Dimebag had been killed 4 1/2 years later. God, that reunion tour with his corpse totally sucked balls.
