When Sting gets it right he gets it right for sure, however I've always found him (both solo and with The Police) more of a singles artist, I've never really been compelled to listen to a lot of his full albums.

When you think of Synchroncity, you don`t only think of The Police`s final stand, but also of the awful Mother. If there is one song that should be ranked as the worst Police song, this would be it. Andy Summers hasn`t a great voice, especially if the song is all about yelling "MOOOOTHEEER"! The songwriting is terrible and the overall performance is just a mess. Miss Gradenko is not great either, but it is still bearable and better than Mother. Still, you can rely on the Synchronicities (I & II), Walking In Your Footsteps, O My God, Murder By Numbers and, of course, the hits everyone knows: Every Breath You Take, King Of Pain, Wrapped Around Your Finger and Tea In The Sahara. So, Synchronicity is far from being a masterpiece every Police fan praise-that honour should go either to Reggatta de Blanc or Zenyatta Mondatta-.

Mother is like meeting Dr. Jeckyl, Mr. Hyde and the Loch Ness Monster in one song. It`s the perfect way to torture your worst enemy. In short, it is a sonic nightmare.
