Yeah I saw that, been meaning to give them a listen. Looks like the answer to what DaveyBoy was talking about in his review/thread.

Well, even if it was, it wouldn't solve nothing about the album's supposed "averageness" and "lack of originality", since the album was released a lot before those acoustic tracks. They are great, both, especially Give Me A Sign, you should really take a listen :P

Yeah I know lol. It just reminded me of that. I'll listen to them as soon as I get the chance.

I've listened to them now, they are fantastic. The Give Me A Sign acoustic in particular shows how much better Ben's vocals have gotten, I don't say this about acoustic versions usually, but I think it might be better than the original actually.

Yeah, that's it, I'm not even the biggest fan of acoustic versions (actually I think acoustic versions of So Cold or Sooner or Later suck), but here is voice is incredible, it's impossible not to like. I still prefer the original though.

Also, you should take a look at this:

It's an acoustic perfomance from them, a few time before they began the tour. Tell me something about

it then.

I've seen that video. I've never been too fond of the live videos I've seen of them, Ben just does not hit the notes like in the studio recordings.

I think he does a great perfomance here. But yet, you're right, it's never the same. But should the

fact that he can hit some notes in studio that can not reach live tell us something?

He just has a voice that's difficult to capture.

I wish I could say "this one takes time to grow on you", but if you've heard it a few times and it isn't clicking, then it might not.

At least give Anthem of the Angels and Lights Out another try.

Great review! Even though I initially gave the album a 2, I'm willing to give it a second chance, since "Give Me a Sign" - one of the songs that I initially criticized - has since grown on me.

Thanks. Yeah dude, definitely give this another shot, it was initially disappointing for me, but I can't get enough of it now. It doesn't step "out of the box" too much, but it's really consistent.

Pos is appreciated. And yeah, I suppose this one is a grower for some people, it really only took about 2-3 listens for me. Anthem is still #1 from this album imo.

Crawl has grown on me, too. Other than that my opinion remains the same.

I still think Into The Nothing is the best one in here. Also the first single, the balads. Quite frankly, the only one I didn't like that much at the begining was Fade Away. Now I like it more, but I still believe that it's the weak link in the album.

I'm really starting to want having my own review of this. I should be working on it soon.

Yeah Into the Nothing rules, the groovy bass work in the verses is awesome, and it's one of Ben's top performances on the album I think. To me, the song sounds like something that could fit into an action/adventure movie.

Fade Away was actually an early favorite for me, but I'm not really that big on it anymore, it's a good opener imo, but it's not too outstanding compared to the rest of the album. I think that's a good thing though, the album isn't top-heavy at all, there are consistently highlights throughout.

And that's cool that you want to do a review. My Alter Bridge-Blackbird review is in the process of being written, I'll have it up within a few days.

I'll be right there, reading and supportin' ya :b

I don't know when I'm gonna do mine, I lost everything I had in my pc, including some of the text I

had written for the review..

Into the Nothing's lyrics say a lot to me, in my opinion it's the best lyrics. Yeah i said my favorite

Dear Agony's, but Into the Nothing's just connects a lot more with me. Maybe in terms of art of

writing Dear Agony, Anthem Of The Angels, Give Me A Sign are better, but the message isn't so personal

to me, that's all.
