I wish I would have known about these guys when they were together so I could have seen them live.

"I wish I would have known about these guys when they were together so I could have seen them live."
This so hard. I love me some Dear Hunter but it would be fucking great if these guys got back and Casey divided his time between the two. This is still my favourite album out of both bands.
|
| |
I go back and forth between this and Mi Fa Mi. They are both so good in their own way.
|
| |
listened to this after a couple of years and it's still refreshingly catchy

Why don't you two, well, you know.... rate it that, then?
|
| |
Don't be crazy Ecnalzen, that would require putting in some effort.
|
| |
You're right; what was I thinking?
The correct answer? I wasn't.
|
| |
Lol nah I'll go and rate it. What would you rate this man?
|
| |
Apparently I've already rated it a 5, it's just not showing up here....
*cue horror music*
|
| |
lol, the horror, indeed...
Well, I had this at a 4.5, but I was wanting to re-evaluate my rating since it has been so long since I have listened to it, so I deleted it. I just forgot about the whole 're-evaluation' thing, so I am not really sure what I would give it right now.
|
| |
Oh, wait... no one's ratings are showing up on this. The frog stomp picture is showing up at the top instead of the album and artist name/picture. Maybe I do still have this rated...
|
| |
Yeah haha that Frogstomp picture, weird that the review itself is still up. But yeah this is a hard 5 for me, as much as I love the Dear Hunter none of their albums quite touch this. Every song just flows together perfectly and all work perfectly on their own, and about two years after I first discovered it I'm still finding little hidden things about it. It's genius.
|
| |
Tentative tastes for those less interested.
|
| |
wut
|
| |
Well, whoever wrote the review doesn't have their username attached to it anymore, so that might be why the frog stomp thing shows up after the first page.
I do really like this, but I wish they would have went a little heavier than they did. This always felt pretty light on the post hardcore and was more of an alt rock style to me. Like the "fingers like spiders" part on Broadcast Quality? I would have loved some more shit like that on here.
|
| |
Casey screams it in the rival cycle at around 3:47.
|
| |
There are a few spots here and there with the harsh vox and some heavier spots, but they are pretty few and far between. I do love the triple vocal attack though.
|
| |
This album is perfect.
|
| |
Ah right TREO5 I got you haha. I reckon they balance the heavy/soft thing perfectly without just resorting to breakdowns all the time. And yeah with the triple vocals that's the main thing I missed on Mi Fa Mi that puts it below this record, it wasn't the same without Casey's vox.
