For me, most of this album is like "yeah okay pretty good whatevs" - except for Utterances which is basically one of my favourite death metal songs evar. S'wierd.

Yep, even though Kollias' chops got me into the band, I don't really listen to their music for the drums.
I think they went a little overboard with the whole clarity thing on the new one. Production is too clean and thin, riffs lack heaviness, vocals are way too mid-range/screamy, and the songwriting seems to lack compared to previous efforts. I'd take the muddy but atmospheric Black Seeds over AtGoS any day.
