Of course they played Trains, I was just throwing out some of the songs that came to mind to show that it wasn't just the Incident. I know they have two setlists, but here is the one I saw.
First Half- The Incident.
Second Half- Start of Something Beautiful, Buying New Soul, Anesthetize (Middle Third), Lazarus, .3, Bonnie the Cat.
Encore- Way Out of Here, Trains

They've skipped Trains a few times. It's sort of the song the band hates to play because it's like the fan favourite but they have to because it's the best obvi.

Yeah, I can't blame them for being sick of it, but they still perform it like it's a new song. Maybe they should start playing it poorly so fans don't require it......nahhh.

lol. I wish theyd take Lazarus out of their set lists tbh. Thats such a downer of a song.

It might be a downer if it weren't so pretty. I wouldn't want to see them live while they're touring in support of this album though.

Lazarus is a great show song, PT has a lot of mid-tempo songs and it's great when they mix it up.

Thats what people say about DT - Spirit Carries On and I was extremely un-impressed with it after the high of actually being at the show died down.
Its just.. kinda boring.

I think this album REALLY grows. While there aren't any songs as perfect as Trains or Buying New Soul...as a whole, I think it's maybe his second best, right behind Lightbulb Sun.
|

MorningView, when I saw them it was exactly the same setlist, but they played Mother And Child Divided instead of Way Out Of Here :/
EDIT: double post, sorry.

Interesting that you said his rather than theirs. I wonder if the band has any influence on the creative process, or is it all up to SW?

The band has an influence on the creative process. It is mostly SW but some of them (especially the second disc) are band collaborations and one song was written by Barbieri. The lyrics department has and always will belong to Wilson I think.

i've always thought of PTree as SW's backing band...even though the whole band (especially Gavin Harrison on drums) are crazy talented

great commentary. articulated exactly what i wanted to say. their 55 minute epic chunka music can't beat anything in absentia. the heavy couldnt beat "blackest eyes" and the slow was nothing compared to "heartattack in a layby"
|
| |
Seriously? In Absentia?
That album REEKED of filler :/

I'm guessing you think Trains is one of those....but that's not good, it's unbelievable.

Trains is just one of those songs that you write once in a lifetime if you're lucky.
