You just hurt me beyond explanation Lord. I love both but I much prefer Paice. No one could fill the

other's shoes though.

haha I predicted that may happen, sorry manosg, it's just that I think Powell was way more powerful both at solos (his solos on the live versions of Still I'm Sad are the best thing ever) and rythm (Tarot Woman, Run with the Wolf, Stargazer and A Light in the Black, all have some of my fav drums, just lile Gates of Babylon and Kill the King

I prefer Bonzo the most out of the Trinity's drummers, but I can't imagine anyone other than Paice playing with DP. Paice's emphasis on pure energy, speed and full force gave the music the intensity it needed. Bonzo, having a bigger emphasis on precision and feeling, wouldn't have suited DP's music quite as well.

However this is all opinion, and I'm sure some may disagree with me.

I'm gonna have to jam Rainbow more so I can join in those Rainbow discussions.

Just make sure that when you jam Rising you pick the L.A. mix danny, the bass is way more powerful and Powell's drumming is way cooler, specially in RwtW

haha, no worries Lord. Really, have you listened to Cozy's Octopuss? It's got contributions by Jon Lord and Gary Moore but I still haven't jammed it.

I"ve only heard his work with Rainbow, Sabbath and Whitesnake, haven't even checked Emerson, Lake and Powell, gotta change that

My favourite songs from Cozy Powell's solo albums are Sunset and Dartmoore both of which were written by (and feature) Gary Moore. Powell hardly does anything on those songs though, they're pretty much Gary Moore solo songs featuring Cozy Powell.

Also I like Paice way more than Powell, there's no contest imo.

I do like Powell's playing on Rising though.

We need to give it a tenth page soon. All five members were nowhere but spot on for the whole album. I wish phenomenal vocalists like Gillan was were given more attention today rather than just a subcultural following.

This is surely one of the all time greatest guitar and keyboard albums in all of rock.

It's interesting to think that there are some albums that, even when you give them a 4.5, you're lowing their average

I am sure glad this album has such a high rating, even if under 1,000 votes are submitted for it.

Sabbath prob had the best studio production though, they sounded fantastic on their first 6.
