I just hope they don't have the ridiculous pirate-cleans this time. The god awful clean vocals ruin Augury for me

Interesting stuff guys.

I never really think of bands in terms of 'scenes' but it makes sense that they'd all be working together, whether that's from an influence perspective or actually collaborating/promoting gigs etc.

Most bands tend to collaborate in scenes.

"I never really think of bands in terms of 'scenes'" I definitely do but it may have something to do with growing up listening to metal pre-Spotify era ubiquitousness, when discovering bands that had that Gothenberg, Bay Area, Norwegian Black Metal, Floridian Death Metal, etc. sound, was a result of them being indigenous.

It's definitely a lot less personal these days & you find out less about the artists unless you really dig for the information (which admittedly I don't except the odd article here & there).

I honestly like the vocals. The riffs are insane, too. Gotta really pay attention to keep up with what's going on here. Very in your face! Hard to pick favorites. But I wanna say Emaciate and Faceless Unknown.

I've always enjoyed Desalvo's vocals on this, to be honest this is my favorite Cryptopsy album. None so Vile is great, sure, but there's something about this one

I actually hated DiSalvio for many years before The Unspoken King because he wasn't Lord Worm.

Then The Unspoken King came out and I hated Matt and loved DiSalvio.

Then Book of Suffering came out and now I love Matt and Lord Worm and LIKE DiSalvio but not love.

This album rules hard tho

I feel that way about the end of Emaciate. The whole album is great though. It's short so it's easy to just jam the whole thing. When it's over I always feel like I had more energy than when the album started. Haha
