idk I have to get through the whole album first and that is a task I am not up for today. Regardless, this doesn't seem too bad

american eulogy is pretty great. So is most of heroes and cons. Most of the rest is either bad or average but a complete ripoff of something else. I'm sure there are other good ones in there too but idr them

i am a genre elitist and must constantly hammer into the psyche of lowly "posers" that their beloved green day is in fact not a punk band. this makes me cool

they only split it into three sections because they knew it was a lot of material and wanted listeners to more easily "wrap their heads" around the songs.

and yeah benzum you are pretty pretentious. i used to be like you back in my high school years. but fret not, for you too will grow up and see the error of your ways

'Know Your Enemy' made me throw up so I will not be looking into this.

Wow...it really is...it's almost completely the same.

You mean every song they've put out?

You know, I think your review was wonderful (especially your opening paragraph) but I just dont *ucking like Green Day after the mascara came along. Maaaaan, I remember the good ol days when GD played Woodstock with the huge mud fight and Dirnt got tackled cus the security thought he was a fan that got on the stage. Now, well I just think they sold their soul.

Also, am i the only one in the opinion that Insomniac is their best record?

I agree. They are one of my favourite bands, but in no way are they punk. Probably just a Pop rock band I spose.

And yeah, Benzum is pretty uphimself, hopefully he grows out of it.

"Know Your Enemy" made me throw up

This. Seriously the laziest, worst song Green Day has written in years.

Coming in late on that whole Beatles thing, I love how people don't realize those guys started off blatantly ripping off Chuck Berry and Little Richard. As for their later work, it's undeniably great but IMO hasn't aged very well. And plenty of other bands (the Stones and Beach Boys predominantly) had a hand in creating the pop music of today, so giving the Beatles credit for all of it is a load of crap. Phil Spector and George Martin had a big hand in their success and music too...

I don't see how people can say that. Although Pop Rock would generally be a good tag for their recent work, there were a lot of sections on 21CB that reminded me of old school punk like the Ramones, Misfits, etc. So I wouldn't say their punk roots haven't completely left them.

So you would say their punk roots have completely left them then?
