haha lol I do belive so Davey. Although my username is about as uncreative as it can be it represents my musical tastes quite good since I basically listen to all metal exept black which I haven't really gotten into yet.

But I definitely don't mind some good hip-hop (quite looking forward to the new Eminem btw), hard rock, rock, punk and I didn't remember to mention before that I've become terribly big on industrial (more like the Industrial METAL though haha).

yeah I know, quite scary they are indeed. Although like someone once said (I believe that it was fireaboveicebelow) these pie charts don't tell you shit! haha

Sure metal is undoubltably my prefered genre of music, but like said above, I don't pride myself on only listening to metal. Other genres deserve a place in my music library as well (hell i have even a couple of pop songs here as I see now lol)

i dont know about anyone else, but im dying for the new cold record this year. theyve given no hints on whether their going back to their old style or going with the softer sound from recent albums. im praying its the old

according to my chart im stupendously unbalanced in favor of rock and mainstream rock...that's not all true haha

so true, no way is 40% of what i listen to metal, more like 25% plus my post hardcore section should probably be bigger.

Davey, don't know if you noticed but I've slipped Arctic Monkeys quotes into my last two reviews, I'm gonna try and keep it going as long as possible :-)

korraeswai, I can't say I have ever got into Cold, but I probably haven't tried too hard either. I guess there is another band to put on my list... Which is slowly becoming too f'n long! Haha!

Don't get me started on pie charts again. I'm in the very very huge minority here as I think they do give a good indication. Remember that it only takes into account artists/albums you rate a 3.5 or above, so it's not meant to indicate what you listen to, but what you really like.

Ross, I obviously noticed the Arctic Monkeys quote in the Crazy Frog review, but had forgotten you had used another previously. It could be a fun little chain through your reviews & it is a positive since I think there are some great one-liners in their songs.

DaveyBoy...P. Sessions was a really good album in its own right...i was just not a fan of the style they had there, i mean i enjoyed it but in that they had a sound that i wasnt too fond off, but was it bad no way, i just enjoyed Infest so much back in the day.

And to the others, I think LHT was one of their weakest efforts but in that album i believe Papa Roach had there best riffs, atleast in my opinion Jerry (Their Guitarist) was at his best, him and him alone..my 2 cents

The difference with you Kane is that Gaslight/itchy/Bleak/(who knows what else) goes out of their way to mislead! LOL!

Marko, what are you waiting for? Have I forgotten something?

alexanjah1, as I always say; To each their own... And that's fair enough as we all have different tastes in music. And that's a very good point about 'lovehatetragedy'; the guitar was prevalent on that album, but it didn't work as a whole. I guess Papa Roach aren't the only band to fall victim of the difficult 2nd album.

I also think LHT was the reason Papa Roach become much more mainstream sounding, due to the fact of how it had many negative reviews n not selling as much as people expected, i mean other then "she loves me not" there wasnt a really catchy song there...it had its good n its bad i guess.

metalstyles15 your pie chart colour combination is the best I've ever seen.
Listened to this album again, can't say its any worse than I thought from my first listens through. Guess it is one of those genuinely average albums.

Yeah, well put alexanjah. Although, believe it or not, I think 'Lovehatetragedy' charted better than 'Infest' & 'Getting Away With Murder'.

Leaving in exactly a month's time Kane, so you still have to put up with me for a little while yet.

Conor, I'm unsure this album will get any worse on repeated listens, but it probably won't get better either.

Your righty Davey, the album was their highest charted..for the "First" week but sales took a MAJOR dip cuz after "she loves me not" came "time n time again" which for some reason wasnt very appealing to the masses (though i like this song) and the reason it did chart high was due to the success of Infest that left fans craving their next LP which was this.

On I sidenote I did some research and found out that Metamorphosis actually charted higher then the paramore sessions in first week sales.

P.Sessions first week: 41,000 sales

Metamorphosis first week: 44,000 sales....this is probably due to the success of their single lifeline.

"the reason it did chart high was due to the success of Infest".

Agreed 99.99%. And don't necessarily discount 'Paramour Sessions' having a positive effect on 1st week sales of this album either. It was either that or every strip club in America bought Metamorphosis! LOL.

ha every strip club...i wouldnt doubt it, have seen them live? there one of the better bands, maybe a reason there still doing very good still.

And davey i read some stuff u said about breaking benjamin on previous pages, i have to say breaking benjamin is along with shinedown the best mainstream bands in my opinion, u have to give em a couple listens, and a good place to start is there debut album "saturate" which is there rawest..but im sure u will like it.

I can't recall writing anything about Breaking Benjamin for a while, but I have heard all 3 of their albums. While I wouldn't rate any of them individually high, I really like the better songs from each of them. So yeah, I'm a fan of theirs but I doubt I would rate any of their albums above a 3.5.

If they can be considered mainstream rock, Lostprophets are my favorite in the genre. Although, the new album is reported to be a lot heavier than Liberation Transmission.

@ Conor

thanks, yeah my pie chart is........well, interesting and now, by looking at it only death metal and industrial should have a bigger percentage and nu-metal should have a smaller percentage and about 5%of punk should be there also (i had it, but dunno what happened to it).

@ Davey and alexanjah

I agree on all the stuff concerning LHT. Lostprophets's first album was good, but I lost interest in them after that. Concerning mainstream i still like KoRn and Disturbed quite a bit. Oh yeah, P.O.D. is my total guilty pleasure, I've actually rated their greatest hits album a 5 and don't feel bad about it.This Message Edited On 04.16.09
