Honestly, the lyrics are so well written and the story as a whole just works very well with the music. The emotion contained in the vocalist's voice really helps convince the listener about his atrophying mental state of what we can only assume is pretty depressed and lonely. This is why I am bumping this up to a 5 and making it my album of the year.
