If I said I liked Worship that means I like funeral doom. If I said I like the Dead Kennedys that means I like punk. If I said I liked Death that means I like death metal. If I said I liked Gorod that means I like tech death. I don't have to like every other band in those genres to say I like the genre.
Adb, you seem to think that liking a genre equates to liking every single band in the genre. Personally, I'm far more critical of the genres I like because I want to be listening to the best the genre has to offer.

I NEVER said anything like that, I think liking a handful of bands in a sub-genre is enough to say you enjoy it, not 1, that is questionable at best. It seems you like bands based on originality instead of actual genre, which I've stated repeatedly, do you agree?
Still love you bro, just thought that was hilarious.
I just felt like contradicting myself the way rasputin has done 3 times now in this argument

I think you've confused 'contradicting' with 'winning'. Sorry to have to kick your arse and leave, but I have work. See ya.

I'd give it a 3.5-4, I think. While it may not be completely original in sound, it's harmonization and execution are really really solid. The solo's are fairly interesting since they don't blend together in a blur so much as say, Necrophagist (with some rare exceptions,) despite the fact that Muhammed does most of them.
Anyways...I'd give it a 3.5-4 as an album. I'll give it a few more listens and then judge it a little better, but as it stands, I'm really liking the mix of technicality and speed...with some vocals that are actually refreshing (the lows are solid, but the highs are a great mix.) A lot of tech death riffs do kind of just sound like warm-ups though...especially shred albums...
Gorod/Spawn of Possession are my favorites from the genre, I guess.

Basically I said rasputin didn't like tech death, he said he does, listing Anata and Cynic. Then he said Cynic isn't tech death.
Then he said liking a genre doesn't matter, yet liking one band means you like that same genre.
Then he says I should assume he likes Necrophagist because he said he liked tech death (but he didn't mention them and said genres don't matter) and says I shouldn't assume anything.
If that was hard to understand, it should be. Its basically 3 contradictions all rolled into one.

I'm with rasputin on this one. I don't like them much at all. No variety and just uninspiring
yet you give them 3.5

I think he's torn between his and rasputin's opinion.
