Pretty much sums up exactly how I feel about the album. I listen to it once a month these days just to see if I still like it, but I think the last time I heard it was the last time I will ever go out of my way to listen to it. Pos'd not because I agree but because you do a very good job of explaining how mediocre a lot of this album is.

Idk sometimes I kinda wish I didn't write this, because people seem to think that a) I wasn't serious or b) I just wrote it to be noticed, neither of which is true. Truth is I just don't get much enjoyment out of the album, and I guess there are others out there who agree with me. I think its good to have reviews with differing opinions, even if the opinion is *wrong*.

Well, I'll rephrase... not mediocre, it's definitely good, hence why I rated it "good", but I find it hard to see it as anything more than good primarily due to 1) the vocals and 2) the lack of emotional depth. I'd probably enjoy it more as an instrumental album.

Vocals work for some people and dont for others. i hate Disillusion(s vocals) with a passion as an example.

Hawks, that's what I hear from everyone. I can't fathom how anyone can tolerate listening to that entire album. The vocals are the same in every track... I mean, he hits the same obnoxious pitch... and the vocoderish effects only make it worse. I will probably keep giving it a try despite what I said before. I feel like I'm missing something spectacular but in about a dozen full-album listens I still don't know what it is.



Balls, good point. I like Vurtox's vocals (Disillusion) quite a bit, but I could understand why some would hate them. Surely someone out there understands why I don't like Cynic's even if they like them.
