I think it's kinda cool

had Nunc Stans in my head for the whole day today, it's really got a really catchy intro!
Oh and the climax of King of Those Who Know (where it goes clean with the solo near the end-ish) is one of the highlights of the album.

The best solo is the one on "The Space For This".

It took like three weeks but this album finally arrived! I have to say this thing really delivered! This has been a superb year for album releases (metal in particular) and have to say I'm going to have real trouble putting an '08 list together. Gonna let this sink in until the end of the month before I try ranking things just yet, but what an awe inspiring display of art/music.

I was contemplating reviewing this, so I listened to it twice today and i just.......don't get it. I can't for the life of me understand the fuss. I really have tried to see it as more than 'Average' but thus far....nothing.

I think I understand what you are saying. I kind of feel the same way with Imago by The Butterfly Effect. Most people like it a lot and say its great but I just don't get how that is. I listened to it multiple times and I couldn't see it. I found good enough stuff to give it a 3 but I can't by any means give it more than that.
However, just like I told Altmer when he gave Colors a 1, there has to be enough stuff in this album to see it at least a bit better than how you currently see it. Music, guitar work, ambience, melody... This Message Edited On 12.18.08

I can see myself maybe bumping it up to a 3 with a few more listens, but probably not more than that. For the time being though, I stand by my rating.

That's fair enough. Not everyone can be expected to love it. It takes some more listens to get into, or click with, and sometimes it doesn't at all.

As funny as I found that comment I can relate. Sometimes listening to an album while in darkness or with eyes closed it will make a color jump out in my mind.

Smoke up and watch WMA's Geforce (or milk drop) to this. You'll go to another dimension lol.
The best solo is the one on "The Space For This".
Naaah, it's great, but Evolutionary Sleeper's beats it next track (imo)

Happens to me all the time (like with Opeth for example). Maybe it'll click and you'll love it, or maybe it won't. Either way, I'm glad you're one of the few recent new user's that's not a fucking brain-farting troll.

So much truth there.

Well, I joined here to get better at writing, so trolling wouldn't really aid me in that respect.
