My favorite part of your argument was when you were talking about the music in Unholy Confessions and about it being fashioncore, then in the next statement you say that it doesn't have to do with the music.
| | | If Sgt Slaughter from the G.I. Joes had a favorite song, it would be Bat Country. Needless to say, I'm no Slaughter fan...
And while i'm ranting, what's the deal with everything being called "core." I mean, you have hardcore, emocore, metalcore, and now fashioncore? What the duke? This Message Edited On 02.07.06

i believe that if something has a "Core" ending...it means that it has roots or is in some way derived from Hardcore.
And fashioncore, from you're definition Mudvanynian, has nothing to do with the band and more to do with their fans. In a way, you're guilty of making a band fashioncore because you're judging them on how they dress and not by the music. To say that A7X puts more thought into style than their music is absurd. This Message Edited On 02.07.06

Mudvaynian, that means I could call any band "fashioncore". Just because they don't want to look bad doesn't mean they emphasize that more than the music, for example, old Mudvayne. They used to dress up in space alien costumes and shit, I don't think they are fashioncore but I could definately argue that, but because they did that doesn't make them fashioncore, you get what I'm saying.
| | | So, by definition, Drunken Viking, would you consider Gwar, or even someone like Elton John or Freddie Mercury fashioncore? It's a stupid saying, a stupid arguement, and ok, are we really arguing about this? Come on guys...

Did you not read my post or something. I said that doesn't make them fashioncore.
| | | My bad dude...I meant to address that comment towards Mudvaynain.

I have seen many Mudvayne shows and the kids look the same as some of the ones in an A7X video. Have you ever been to an Avenged Sevenfold show? It's just regular people, most wear blue jeans have long hair and are rather strong.

He's right. A lot of Black in the crowd tho.
But I wear pretty much all black, all the time. Is that because some of my favorite bands dress in dark clothes? Am I trying to make a fashion statement? No. I just happen to love the color black, and, I look damn good in it. ehhhh.
...And I like my clothes to match my soul. Hah.
I sense this argument coming to a close, which is good. ktstein, I agree...fashioncore is a stupid genre/grouping/adjective/whatever.

mudvaynian, who gives a fuck what the fans of a band look like? Does that in any way, shape, or form affect the sound of the music? No. You obviously have something against A7X so you just come up with ridiculous reasons to hate them. If you don't like the music, fine, good for you. But don't come on here whining about how they or their fans dress. This isn't a fashion website.
Anyways back to the music, this is one of my favorite albums. Too bad A7X will probably never make another album like this one since they're receiving commercial success with CoE. Chapter Four's the best song on here, IMO.

Hmm, I find my top 3 on this album go 1) Second Heartbeat - 2) Unholy Confessions - 3) Chapter Four...
Rogue Poet, i cant see how you dont like atleast a few other songs on this album and still like Chapter Four, even if it is your favorite song on this album like a lot of other people theres still songs that sound like it... but whatever its anyones opinion i guess.
Oh, and for this "fashioncore" argument going on, as was said earlier, fans have no influence whatsoever on what genre the band is... I listen to Classical Guitar, Metallica, A7X, and the Rolling Stones (to name a few) and wear polo shirts and khakis to an all boys Catholic school I go to (which I dont really mind)... and none of my other musical preferences and what I like to wear should have any influence on the bands I listen to!

You said that it has to do with the fans appearence, fans where clothes don't they?

Dude no point in arguing with him, his user name is mudvayne, like dressing up in nu-metal boiler suits and calling yourself 'gog' is the height of 'cool.'
:sigh:
| | | I second that BFHurricane...I wear a coat and tie to work, and I still like the heavy stuff...

There are many many bands who wear makeup and that has to do with nothing. Most black metal bands where some kinda makeup and I'd say they are pretty heavy, and the death metal band Behemoth wheres some, Ozzy does. The fact that you would bring up fashioncore out of nowhere and use it to insult this band then claim you were only talking about their music is bullshit.

Dude...those are two of the worst songs on that cd. Actually listen to the cd before you rate it. Second, those are songs off of City of Evil. This is the WtF thread, go bitch in a different review.
Also, man get over this looks shit. It's people like you that made "fashioncore" so you'd have something to bitch about. Hell, if a band wants to dress in assless chaps and wear womens tank tops, i could give a fuck as long as they don't take their music as a joke. If you have a problem with the way A7X dresses, don't watch the videos or go to the shows. If you have a problem with the music, thats fine...but at least back it up instead of saying that "its the worst song you've ever heard". Because all that shows is a difference of opinion. Which is just fine, if you're not a prick about it.

I used to have a problem with how Aiden and the like dressed and did all that goth shit. I decided that it wasn't worth it, because part of the reason that some bands do that...is to say "Fuck You" to people like me. So get over it, man. It's about the music. And if you can't see that and are getting all caught up on an image, then you're just as guilty as a band who dresses like such. Because images are for statements and attention. And you obviously pay attention.
So again...get over it.

A much better than good CD. They had a real impressive sound at this point and this album was their strongest, IMO.
As cheesy as some of it was, it still sounded great and it was very easy to get into.
I have absolutely no interest in what a band does, says, or likes outside of a show. (unless they make a positive impression on me) Ima fan of music, not the musicians. If they want to go out and be the most popular of popular 'scene' bands....good for them. I couldn't care less. As long as they keep putting out good music, I'm all for it.
Problem for Avenged was...that this looks like it ws their last bit of good music. City of Evil was terrible. This Message Edited On 02.23.06

Has it ever hit anyone that A7X might want to dress that way? I saw a live show of them, Shadows was wearing a muscle shirt and Synyster Gates was wearing a top hat. So what, in some peoples opinions they can be total faggots for that, and thats fine, but that doesnt put them into the "fashioncore" category. I honestly think that the term "fashioncore" shouldnt exist.
