Excellent review. The only song on this album i wasn't to fond of was "disposable heroes" the intro part just dragged on for way too long. But i was really pleased with the solo in that song. It was very difficult (as are most of there solos) and when it slowed down and the rythm guitar and bass on it picked up it really gave the solo and emotional feel

I think disposable heroes is one of the best songs on the album. The solo is absolutley amazing and so is the whole album. The Thing That Should Not Be I think is a bit underrated but every song on there is incredible, great review btw. The second solo in MoP is pure shred!!

Anyone that cant see that MOP is one of the best albums of all time and that metallica are, by far the best band to ever grace this planet need to stp taking drugs !!!!!

There full range of skills cant be listed either in the studio or live . From writing masterpieces such as MOP to NEM to Dev Dan. No one band has influennced so many other bands or people . they are pure GENIOUS

Dude Metallica's shit was so much better when they were on drugs, and that be including all their old speed metal stuff. Anyways this is a damn good album, Orion being my favorite on it.

They were always more into alcohol than drugs, although Hammet had a cocaine habit at one point.
Listen closely, this is the sound of a band defining, embodying, and perfecting a moment in history. Nothing says mid-80's thrash better than Master Of Puppets. It's like the rulebook.

People gatta realize that alcohol is a drug, no matter how much you don't wanna admit to it. What does that have to do with Metallica? Nothing really.

Metallica is not thrash (thats responding to a few hundred comments). They are to melodic. I would call them speed metal. Slayer is Thrash. Notice if you take Slayer and slow it down, it sounds just like metallica's speed metal riffs. Metalllica though, unlike slayer has a lot of melodic material, and slayer is just four guys playing ****y music so fast it sounds good. And before anyone says it is, "South of heaven" does not make Slayer melodic.

Hunter, Metallica IS thrash. You can be melodic and still be a thrash band. That's why RtL and MoP were so revolutionary.
