Anberlin's worst album.

Its still a toss up between this and blueprints for me. Blueprints was consistently mediocre whereas this has some really good tracks and some really bad ones.

I don’t know. I have to say I was very disappointed with this album when it first came out. But on second listen it isn’t that bad. I still think Cities had some better songs and Fin pretty much blows this album away but it is still good stuff.

Weird how your tastes in music can change in just a few months.

I dont really like this. This is my first Anberlin album, and it didnt really draw me in. I dont see the "x factor" in this, its just generic pop rock to me. I'll give it another listen, though.

Listen to Cities as well, but I doubt that will change your mind about this band a whole lot.

If nothing else, experience the eargasm that is "Fin".

grrr low raters make me mad. to me its a tie between cities and new surrender. people are too focused on sound why does every song have to be dark and guitar heavy you need balance. and its how the LYRICS weave into the sound. do people not know what mediocre is i call bands like simple plan less than mediocre.

It wouldn't be retarded if the lyrics were accurate and it related to the album.

He's right actually. Stephen (or whoever) writes some interesting lines here and there but overall the lyrics are pretty mediocre.

The lyrics here are pretty good, they fit the songs well; at any rate, they're not bad enough to complain about.

Regarding the lyrics on this album, I'm old enough to know, but too young to care.

Lyrics aren't bad. Not amazing, but not bad.

Actually, even with the lyrics, it gets back to Chan's words in the 1st paragraph of his review. On paper, they seem generic & cliched, but they just work... There is an X-Factor to a line such as the one I just quoted which makes it succeed.
