I'm just sorting some FLAC files I downloaded from demonoid ATM. They appear to be pretty good quality from the comments the torrent's been getting.

Be good to listen to this great album in better quality and discover the extra subtlties we were supposed to hear on the retail version.

this album is awful, it seems everyone who likes it only does because its "better than st. anger"

Hey143, it is better than St Anger, but that's not why it's a good album.

user randy from pennywise: this is not a good album, nor is it as emotionally compelling as st. anger

st. anger is a great album, due to the raw grittiness to it, hetfield never quite sang with the emotion that he did on st. anger either, and lars' snare tone is unique and places him above other modern metal drummers as an individual and not just some thrash legend

I'm with the_wizard on this one. On this site alone people have stated their opinions on why they like the album. Besides, stating that it's "better than St.Anger" holds little to no water seeing as how poor that album was/is.

I just listend to St.Anger again just for the hell of it. Damn, it really does suck, it hasn't grown on me at all. And it's not just a bad Metallica album, but a bad metal album. This is a good metal album and shouldn't take the heat it's getting from some people. It's only flaws are it's mixing (which I could really care less about) and The Unforgiven III.

I'm pretty sure he's joking about St. Anger. At least I hope so.

Another super disappointing Metallica release. For years I went to bat for Metallica vs Mustaine but the more I read about it and the more I hear Metallica, I think its safe to say without Dave and Cliff's influence Metallica is sub-par. Anyone has any objections to this listen to the albums in order. Bands mature yes but Metallica has been so lost after an amazing ...and Justice (which has Cliff and Dave all over it.) The Black Album was a radio Rock album (Metallica got tons of help from Bob Rock on putting that entire ensemble together) and Load and Reload are just way off from the Metallica sound. Then St Anger... that was just a cry for help in my opinion. Jason's vibrant heart is no longer beating in Metallica, all that is left is a very confused Kirk (listen to his interviews), a remorseful James, and an egotistical Lars. I really hope Metallica can use this as a stepping stone to regroup because after Risk (a title Mustaine says fit the album it was a Risk) he regrouped and brought some awesome Metal ala United Abominations. Ill wait for the next Metallica release and who knows.
