Slipknot does not consider MKFR an album.

^^^Isn't that mostly cause the line-up is completely different except for Joey?

I've decided to give this a shot, only other slipknot album i've heard in its entirety is volume III and it was decent. my god maggots piss me the fuck off though.

album is sort of a mixed bag so far. 'Dead Memories' should have definitely been a b-side though.

I honestly had a harder time than i expected getting through this. It bored me mostof the way through

I liked Dead Memories
Butcher's Hook kind of sucks though and Psychosocial is too bland compared to most of the rest. Wherein Lies Continue isn't too great either. I very much like the rest though, especially Gematria, Snuff, and the title track.
There's definitely a lack of coherency, the songs just don't mesh that well together with a few exceptions.

Whats that 5 all about then? :S

Im at the end of psychosocial right now, gematria had some cool riffs but was a bit boring overall imo. Sulfer was really good though, and i dont care for psychosocial other than the chorus.

Album was better than i thought tbh, im gonna give it a 3 for now. Snuff, Sulfur, and the title track rule pretty hard. But likewise Wherein Lies Continue is pretty crappy, and butcher's hook is just ok. Other tracks are decent for the most part, but not too great.

I pretty much agree with you bodom, though I think the other tracks are a bit more than decent (read a few posts/pages back before you ask about the 5). I found Germatria underwhelming at first too, but after a few listens it's one my favorites here. Snuff is definitely the best soft song slipknot (or stone sour for that matter) have ever done. At the start, Slipknot came out and said they only wore the mask so no one would care what hair they had or how they looked or anything and just focus on the music. and bam! like 16 masks changes. I love the Knot, but come on. The original masks were pretty good already. Bring back the boiler suits! Clown had the best mask back in the day, so did 133 and #0. The gas mask was awesome.

Very very good review Dave. You are genuinely improving with each one and there is a real professional feel to them. Well done⦠Pos.

Was it? I'll change if necessary.
I Slipknot considered MFKR an actual album, they would have called Vol.3, Vol. 4 instead.

absolutely love this album, craps all over vol 3. if vol 3 didnt have vermilion then it would be extremely average. 2nd best thing they have ever done behind Iowa. It still owns after all these years

"Slipknot is the real metal!!!"-quote from Slipknot fanboy.
Hahaha please. This band is mediocre at best and sell outs beyond recognition.
|
| |
selling out is only a bad thing if the music is bad
