I guess initial rating 5s are always hyperbolic but having spun this daily for over a week and having it stuck in my head constantly and loving it more each time I just don’t see any reason not to go all in at this point. Every song has amazing with something unique and memorable, lyrics are amazing across the board, the thing flows exceptionally well. My 5s aren’t super super selective like some (I think this makes 44 for me) but it’s still a big deal obviously and this is pretty handily my favorite album I’ve checked out in at least a year. I guess the only concern is that with the initial love it may not have the full staying power of the 5 but I’m willing to bet on it.

It's a Weakerthans and garlic bread kind of night
Also "A New Name for Everything" was on the playlist for my radio show today :,)

This is just the best.
I've always wanted to write up a big thing about how the reason this album is such a warm blanket is that it's about being lonely with people who care about you, while Reunion Tour is about being properly alone. Not sure what I'd even do with that or where I'd post it

This is always maybe gonna be a 4.5. The highs are so high but there's also a couple songs I just don't care about that much

Favorites this week are the three sonnets. Lyrically they're borderline perfect and "(Past-Due)" is just the right way to close this album.

Yeah, the sonnets have been finally starting to click with me as of late - maybe a 5 bump can't be ruled out after all

"(Manifest)" is quickly becoming one of my favorite openers/intros ever

The closer is one of my all time favourite closers. The last 2 are in heavy contention for my favourite closing pair

T/t is also one of the greatest title tracks I've heard, the lyrics on that one are incredible.
Buy me a shiny new machine
That runs on lies and gasoline
And all those batteries we stole from smoke alarms
And disassembles my dispair
It never took me anywhere
It never once bought me a drink...

Yeah that's been my long time favourite off this - and he thought about how everyone dies some day, and when tomorrow gets here where will yesterday be, and he fell asleep in his brand new winter coat
entire album is just incredible i guess
