Nay, I say this is their best album. While Toxicity is more accesible and varied, this album came out at a time nu metal was getting big, but all of it sounded the same. Not only did this record shatter typical nu metal structures and ideas, but in any genre it was one of the most original albums ever created. It's almost an insult to call any of System's work nu metal, and this record is definately no exception. Too bad the quality of their work continually went down with each album.

Why does everyone call this nu-metal when it obviously isn't

What quality went down with Toxicity? If anything, it improved IMO. Unless you mean in comparison to the nu metal coming out @ this time maybe. But I still think Toxicty is more solid.

I don't know dude, I'm a HUGE System fan. Mainly System STA! and before (some of their new stuff is meh at best)
The way I see it, Toxicity is great for anyone who is first getting into SOAD. It has some of their catchiest songs. Their ST was far more drug influenced. Its more raw, and far more bizarre (which is awesome) And STA! is just a collection of recordings, that all kick ass (Highway Song is one of my all time favorites)

bottom line is that this band rules and needs to get back together

S/T>Toxicity>STA!>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Mezmerize and probably all this, Mezmerize included>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Hypnotize, which I haven't heard in full.

Mezmerize was a hint better, but they were both pretty sub-par comparing to S/t and Toxicity. Mezmerize was better as a whole, but I think Hypnotize's 'great' songs were better than any off of Mezmerize. Those songs being Soldier's Side and Holy Mountains. Still, I'd rather listen to Mezmerize through and through than Hyptnotize.

Yea, Holy Mountains is one of the best songs they have done. I also agree that Mezmerize was better as a whole, though I disagree that Hypnotize had better songs; personally "Old School Hollywood" is one of my favorite songs by them.

holy mountains, dreaming and perhaps a couple others are great, but it's devoid of character compared to their other albums i think. lonely day is just lame
