Not even the most influential Eno album
|
| |
What would you say is the most influential album? Sure allot of the tropes of art pop were grounded in Taking Tiger Mountain. But the way eno combined electronic music and minimalism here was incredibly important. Unlike what Terry Riley had done on A Rainbow in Curved Air, Eno created a style of minimalism which had more in common with muzak. Laying down the philosophy of ambient music is much more important imo. His enviromental music can be heard across all media.

I'd honestly say Another Green World and Before and After Science are far more influential, as far as Eno goes
in general, The Velvet Underground and Nico is probably my pick for the most influential album (of the 20th century at least)

I would agree with you there. (on velvets)
