It's how I feel after listening to Mogwai's Young team. They're discog is not bad, every album has 2-3 good tracks but nothing can compares to their debut.

Agreed Qwenta, Young Team is great but most of the other albums just imitated American post-rock and slowcore.
Some of their best stuff was pre Young Team. Check the Ten Rapid compilation if you haven't.

Demon, you should def check Hardcore. As Pika said, it's not groundbreaking whatsoever, but it's a nice compilation of what they're capable of.
And Helicon is transcendantal.
