Great album but compared to its predecessors it isn't all that impressive. There's quite a lot of Celtic Frost influence here, most notably on 'The hordes of Nebulah' and 'Beholding the throne of might'. The faster paced songs are basically standard Black Metal Darkthrone, whereas the vocals, although unsurprising given that it's a black metal album, really don't do anything for me. All in all a good album for those who love Darkthrone, not so for those who haven't listened to the band before.
