i go for the one thats typically considered the best
usually a good starting point
if you randomly choose one you could end up picking a shit record then being like "fuck this band, I'm out"
when really it was just a gamble..and you lost

well, true, if you're easily discouraged
if I do go for one that isn't the band's best at first, I do keep that in the back of my mind. so if I find the first record that I picked a wash, then I will at least know that I should still at least check out what's mainly considered their best before deciding they're not for me.
