Given your love for HTMAP, you guys should check Theatre of Tragedy - Aegis, if you still haven't. Certainly different that HTMAP, but I think you'll enjoy it.

Yup. On Aegis, they essentially shed all their doom/death elements and go for a more streamlined gothic metal sound. Wish you'd enjoy Velvet Darkness more, it's easily one of my all-time favorite albums. But I can see you enjoying Aegis more than Velvet Darkness.
