Just can't get into his voice. I acknowledge their amazing music though. Definitely one of the most talented older prog I've heard.

You won't know til you try! I've found all the worthwhile tracks from On The Sunday... are on the Stars Die compilation, so try that first. Nine Cats and Nostalgia Factory are great

Incident and Sunday are probably PT's two worst records. Both are pretty cool tho

The incident still has really great stuff on it. But the whole record as a whole isn't as engaging as everything else

He wouldn't be too wrong if it was because this is the Floyd-est PT album
|

This is amazing stuff, like Bladerunner plugged in. Only gave it a spin for the first time yesterday and it was one of me years best listens. Defo better than later PT. Cheers Row bro.

@Necro: makes no sense to me how you can rate The Incident higher than this.

I like their psychedelic era, but not as much as their later stuff. Their earlier stuff seemed a bit too derivative of other bands like Pink Floyd and King Crimson, but their later stuff (starting with Signify) mixes things up a bit more and that earns extra points for me. This is still an awesome album though
|
| |
Their later stuff is pretty derivative too (just of different bands), the difference is this isn't shit :D
Early PT isn't derivative of King Crimson at all though. It's Wilson's recent solo material that rips off KC.

You can't deny that they were pretty derivative of Floyd though, not that it's a bad thing
