Imma up my rating alittle bit but I can't fathom giving this a 4.5/5. It doesn't even come close to touching Is a real boy... which is a 4.5/5. There are just too many stupid, skipable tracks.

"Sorry Dudes. My Bad." is sillier than died a jew I think.

^ Oh man I love that song...pretty fun to play on drums too.

And I read Iluvatar's review for the new Circa Survive album the other day so I should have guessed that. I'd never heard of Anthony Green before that album and I find it decent overall. Is there anything better out there that he's on though? I'm hearing a lot of mixed things about that.

what bites me is the lack of depth in the songs.

well in the end it's just a large batch of average to above average songs that are also Max Bemis' songs. does that make it classic?

(rating and attitude subject to change with more listens perhaps)

well you said the appeal is in "Bemis ability to convey depth with simplicity" so I'm wondering how Bemis makes the simple average songs more then what they are. I don't know what relating to it has to do with it. Having a hangover doesn't make the Hangover Song more then a fun one minute song.

Max Bemis is a genius. It took a few listens to grow however. Can't wait for the new one.

Yeah Bemis is pretty much one of the best song writers out there right now, maybe even the best.
