"I wasn't able to really get a definite order this year, was too difficult."
i probably would have been the same if i had had the time to listen to all the new releases i wanted to haha
but i cant imagine dso and ulcerate not dominating the ranking regardless

I threw together a list of anything I rated 4.0+
Close enough I suppose lol
Ulcerate and DSO both came out swinging
If you haven't check Setentia, they're pretty much a different take on Ulcerate's sound

I keep stopping this during the 4th song... excessive slow moving parts on this album like damn.

shrine of mad laughter is really one of their greatest tracks

that's the one (I think) where I stop really listening and after a minute or two I'm like "wtf am I listening to again?"

This kicks the shit out of its predecessor.

Did you listen to Kenose? It fits perfectly between this and Si Monumentum.

"This kicks the shit out of its predecessor."
Agree hard, though First Prayer is a top 5 DsO track for me. Easily my fav opener from the band.

Yeah I love Kenose, that's true. Forgot about that release.

m/ katechon goes hard yeah

Paracletus is almost pop music compared to their early albums. Much more melodic. It misses much of the atmosphere and black metal elements almost like Virus. At times it reminds of alot of post metal bands. Still good. But no where near as dark or creative as Kenose and fas.

I just think of their musical dichotomies as a marriage of opposing elements that make both even better.
