ill defend this band to the ends of the earth not because they’re my favorite or anything (not even close), but their consistency and dedication are basically unheard of in metal.
They’ve been pumping out good riffs for over 30 years and soon to be 16 albums. they never indulged in any trends: no groove metal, no tweedly dee prog, no clean vocals. do you know how hard that was for metal bands in the later 90’s through the mid aughts?
they’ve just been doing what they want for 3 decades and they’ve never released an actually bad album. really remarkable, and I respect that.
plus the century of torment documentary might be the best metal docu out there if you haven’t seen it.
