I understand wanting the production to be unique, but i think they completely muddied the mix and it ruined the album imo

It's cool man, I was just curious.

well now this is just awkward
|

Why's that?

My sister actually dates John Henry's brother, lol (Well, did for a long time.) We live in D.C and we've been following these guys since the beginning. They're really cool dudes and being from the area, even they think it's hard to categorize themselves.
Problem being that...D.C has a huge hardcore scene but it's not what you traditionally think of when you go "Oh, metalcore." or "hardcore." It's old school...so it just has a negative connotation to it, so it's avoided.
As for the artist...Chris said it was Dyer Baizley.
Come to think of it, Pig Destroyer lives pretty close too, lol. They had artwork done by the same guy.

Been listening to this again quite a lot lately. Its really great. One thing I have noticed about Kris Norris' guitar playing is that, whilst well done and tasteful, he does tend to fall back on sweeping a lot. Oh and the lyrics to An Ethereal Drain and A Paradox with Flies are epic.

So all of a sudden I can't stop listening to this.
fire In the Skies is the best song here, its so good.
|

I'd say A Paradox Of Flies is the best. That song is audio sex. Nothing beats Convalesence though.

I've had an addiction to this album recently as well. The solo in Fire In The Sky is great. This Message Edited On 12.07.08

The whole album is full of win, I like all the tracks but my favourites are Doomsayer, Demon(s) and An Ethereal Drain. Can play the first 2 on guitar, going to start learning the third soon.
