I find it funny that people are discussing the validity of their peers' tastes in a JFAC review. JFAC are a band who write relatively straight-forward, somewhat brutal death metal because it's what they write. That's why their fans enjoy it.
And yet you have people arguing about Godsmack for some reason, you have some guy egging him on by calling him a noob.
Seriously guys, I know I've had some lame ass arguments on this site (ie: the massive Kezia debacle) but this is just sad.
I think I'll listen to this finally in the next few days.

Way too plain to be excellent.
I'm starting to think the same thing. I had only listened to the whole thing all the way through once, and then revisited some of the tracks I liked the most (Martyrdom Unsealed, Embedded, The Divine Falsehood).

I think 4 is too high now x_x.

I don't understand why people don't like this if you into Death Metal, cause its a very solid album. The inside riffs are very good, the drumming is awesome, the vocals are good, and the grove riffs fit perfectly.

You have to give them credit for away from the popular norm of just useing breakdowns and hardcore music. They had every option to sell-out but they didn't, its straight up JFAC, getting better.

People are insecure because their last album had pig squeals and breakdowns, and because they were popularized because of MySpace. It's just insecurity.

I thought this album was really boring. Most Death Metal is for me.

It sucks .

@pebster and cocaine

very true, I don't think this is the album of the year by a longshot, but it shows alot of growth on their part.

and regarding their popularization-I found this to be pretty lol-a hardcore kid at my school yelled at a kid with a job for a cowboy shirt "Dude, that band is a stupid myspacecore band for faggots". He received a thumbs up, but then went to confront the kid (Why are hxc kids such toughguys?) and got verbally owned at how little he knew about death metal. Most people around didn't know what was going on, but my little circle found it funny.

It really is true though, people don't like them because they got popular "too quick".

I just find this album to be really mediocre. I didn't enjoy the Doom EP very much outside the drumming. This is just... meh.

I aggree Doom EP, had so really thought into it, it was just lets make heavy ass breakdowns with brutal vocals(breeeee). This album was more thought out, and actual music that made sense. This album probably is not album of the year for me, but probably will get top 5 honors(depends on how good the rest of 2007 goes). Novembers Doom has best album for me soo far

So far, it's up there, but Behemoth, Nile, The Red Chord, etc. have albums dropping this year.
Cocaine, listen to this. It's so much better than Doom.

The Red Chord is dropping an album this year? Hopefully it's more along the lines of "Revolving Doors" than "Clients".
