Crumbs From Your Table is easily one of the best here though, agreed those other three are also trash. Mercy is easily their best post-2000s song I'm so pissed they cut it

A man and a woman as well though. Fuck there are some horrible songs on here.
Mercy is pre-nice yeah.

the original version of Vertigo, Native Son is much better as well. this is really just an album you could delete and only listen to the b-sides tbh

Yeah I was just about to say something about Native Son as well. (City of Blinding lights is still a dope jam)

Native Son
Fast Cars
Miracle Drug

Im pretty sure native son was an early version of vertigo
Fuck i forgot how bad a man and a woman is. Yea the b sides are a lot better than most of the songs here. Especially mercy.
That era of u2 (this and ATYCLB) had some killer outtakes

Native Son is an early version of Vertigo yeah, and is way better. Yeah The Ground Beneath her Feet is like the best song from ATYCLB easily tbh

Ground beneath her feet, stateless, levitate are all better than most of that album
Despite the bad cuts here, miracle drug is the best post pop u2 song imo

hmm
Kite, Ground, Miracle Drug, Mercy, Moment of Surrender are about the only ones I really love

Oh yeah. Kite is excellent as well.
Never really got the love for moment. It's a good track, but it overstays it's welcome imo. Unknown caller is prob the highlight from that album for me

This discussion just opened my eyes to a bunch of U2 songs I wasn't aware of, so thanks for that.
Rowan I'm gonna try that playlist, it looks like an improvement for sure.

Here's my better version of the album
1. Native Son
2. Miracle Drug
3. Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own (B-side version)
4. Are You Gonna Wait Forever
5. City of Blinding Lights
6. All Because of You
7. Smile
8. Fast Cars
9. Mercy
10. Yahweh
Window in the skies would be a decent closer to the album tho im not sure it was written during these sessions

I'm curious to hear Smile, Skies, Mercy, and Native Son for the first time. These new playlists look like an improvement, even though I like Vertigo, despite how overplayed it is.

Mercy is outstanding, and i'd definitely consider native son an upgrade, although i also enjoy vertigo. Kinda like always compared to beautiful day

so basically some of you just wanted this to be more "U2 by the numbers"
Man & a Woman is one of my favorite tracks on here
|
| |
Album Rating: 2.3
no we just wanted it to be good
also good list bubs looks like we like pretty much all the same songs
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.2
Crumbs is better than Yahweh but yeah your lists are basically the same.

Gotta say. I never really liked crumbs all that much. I wouldnt say its love and peace or man and a woman bad, but its never been a track ive felt anything for. Always kinda liked yahweh tho. If anything its a pretty good closer to the album with a strong anthemic chorus, albeit a very by the numbers one
Ive at this point compiled all of this into an album on my computer. Even changed the album cover to the city of blinding lights single cover. It's a significantly better record

Yahweh is alright but the chorus is literally just the one word over and over which kinda kills it for me. Crumbs is great though, best lyrics on this album and great chorus

I relistened to Yahweh and yea it's a good song. Rowan that's not completely true, he chants it like a prayer but says other things in the chorus too.
