@onion I was more talking about the comments than the reviews, a lot of the comments seemed to be complaining that it's not YCBY2 or that it's "too noisy" lol

Lost to time and anticipation - this album holds up and showcases the fact they never stopped writing their music FORWARD. It’s insane listening to their album spread on Spotify and hearing how much better Jeff’s vocals and how much more interesting the guitar work became. I grew up with these guys and their style is still a mystery I cherish. Just cool shit all around, what else sounds like this or even close? 15 years later and PTW and Hopesfall are my two favorites from this period because they refused to be pinned down
I think it’s kinda time to evaluate releases like this differently. At one point we took these guys as the standard for metalcore but what would you even classify this as? Seriously, listen to “Prematurito El Baby” - one of the most straightforward songs on the whole album and what is it? Punk? Rock? Metal? No idea. We got spoiled with bands full of peoooe exploring new shit in this era and im probably out of date but this doesn’t seem to be the case a lot now, right?

I'm definitely due for a revisit and prob will appreciate this more. Love all their records and Tear finally clicked after years of saying "it's alright'

This is Ryan Primack's record, through and through. The dude is super humble considering he's practically a muso prodigy on tons of different instruments, other than the drums he basically played and wrote everything on this, the riffs and guitar tones on this record are *chef's kiss* tasty. Not a small or easy feat considering Derek who had just left wrote a LOT of their previous material and was responsible for their musical direction on YCBY.
And we're getting a new record! Can't believe that news is practically 2 months old and nobody knew about it here
