I'd argue nothing exists that even comes close to these albums. I don't even think there's a band that sounds anything vaguely like IE, let alone as good as them at their best.

Legit question, though. Did anyone ever attempt to or execute a thrash/death/prog blend like IE? The only band that kind of mixed in prog/thrash like IE did as far as I know is, probably, Haken? But Haken clearly lacks the "death" element.

I can't recall a band that has this distinct sound. I mean, there's bands like Bodom and Kalmah that do pretty much the same thing, but it's a completely different sound. These guys were definitely unique.
