It’s not though.

I am glad you find enjoyment but for me it kinda blows. Super stale-sounding compared to their more chaotic and mathy work

Within Dividia is super stale sounding compared to their more refined, focused and atmospheric work.
See what I did there?
|

I don’t see how it’s more “refined” or “focused”, it’s completely different from the previous two. I find the riffs boring, clean vocals annoying, atmosphere bland...sorry but Within Dividia and Transfer Trachea are way more fun to listen to. This does absolutely nothing for me

It's more refined and focused because structurally, it's not a complete and utter mess. Shy of having to study WD at a microscopic level, it's nigh impossible to identify front from back.
Elementary carries a more distinct theme, with tracks that characterize themselves from one another, all while showing the same chaotic elements The End were known for interspersed throughout. The experimentation is a welcomed reprieve from the constant noise
This is not a fun album, and if you find the atmosphere bland, I don't know what to tell you because it's definitely an atmospheric album. I don't pop this one out to have fun... mind you, nor do I listen to WD to have fun either.

I’ve definitely gotta disagree with Within Dividia being a mess, it might seem like that on a cursory listen because of how much they pack into a shorter runtime, but it does have a definite ebb and flow with a lot of builds and climaxes. Elementary does it to a greater degree but I really don’t like the way it does it because it feels way too drawn out with little payoff. The riffs are generally mid tempo and kind of bland to me, and the clean vocals just turn me off every time I hear them. It feels like Inhale Exhale trying to do some kinda post metal thing
But anyway this is going nowhere so we’ll have to agree to disagree lol

Mm yeah; I never thought to compare the two but now that I'm jamming this for the first time in a few years I agree that the atmosphere is fantastic, if not better. Always wished we got at least one more record from these guys
