If there would be a "Best Melodeath Band" pole, I'd seriously consider giving DT my vote. It's been a long time since I last listened to The Mind's I though. Need to give it another spin one of these days

Only other band that comes close is Edge of Sanity but they're more on the prog/death side Actually there is a Japanese melodeath band that people have said is rad but I don't remember what they're called

The production isn't nearly as good, which does lead to that impression, but imo the songwriting is top-notch.

Lol, just found this on the wikipedia page:
