think i prefer the natural bridge at this point
smith & jones is still probably my favourite SJ, it's do different to their others but so unlike any other song

Preferring TNB is a respectable opinion, that one's a near-5 for me.
Smith & Jones is amazing yeah.
I've got two tickets to a midnight execution...

so twisted - what are your favourites over the two albums bb

So many! “Random Rules” is the obvious pick here for a reason but “We Are Real” might top it for me. “People” is more “fun” than those but also perfect.
On The Natural Bridge, my top 3 are prob “Black and Brown Shoes”, “Pet Politics” (man that’s a dark song), and “Pretty Eyes” (maybe the best Berman lyric) but nothing there is short of excellent. I view TNB and American Water as sort of two sides of the same coin in their depictions of Americana, with TNB being much more nocturnal and AW very sunny(as their respective covers indicate).

yeah i actually really agree with the two sides of the coin point - my favourite songs divert quite a bit though. on tnb 'dallas' and 'the frontier index' are probably my 2 favourites with 'pet politics' trailing just behind.

what do you think of natural bridge north

haven't spun it for ages so i can't say for sure, but i liked it a lot then
is bright flight as good as this and natural bridge?
|
| |
i haven't listened to the entire thing - the odd songs i heard didn't move me too much but i do need to give it time as with all Berman (other than the purple mountains stuff actually)

Bright Flight is the 3rd best Joos album after this and TNB. It's a tier below but still damn excellent and "I Remember Me" is an easy top 5 Berman. The last two Joos albums are great too but don't quite have the same magic.

my addiction to the natural bridge right now is meaning i need a review for that soon or else im gonna have to take over this thread
