Haha as if that’s relevant to this discussion. Totally different genre as far as I’m concerned. I prefer the term that they coined, breakdown metal, to describe them. Maybe if that’s what everyone went with, converge fans wouldn’t be so pissed off

Always thought it's the people who don't like converge are angry tbh
Genericore is still metalcore btw

And you get breakdowns in all kinds of metalcore
DEP do breakdowns and so do Botch. They ain't no TDWP tho, that's for sure

Have you seen the reviews and comments on this site for AA on this website? You’re deluded my friend.
“Genericore is still metalcore btw”
Then so is Integrity. Which is just silly to compare any of these mentioned bands to. My point is genre labels are often deceiving. And if you werent trying to divert me because I don’t like your favorite band, you’d agree with me cause it’s obvious.

Cmon mate. Splitting hairs here. There’s breakdowns in almost every style of music in one form another if you wanna take that route. And breakdowns and open note chugging are what drive the entire songs for the bands such as AA, TDWP, ADTR and so on. Obviously that’s what I’m referring to
|
| |
Yeah it’s like a 2.7
|
| |
Duh it’s not your favorite band. Was an exaggeration joke man...like talking to a tree

Yeah, and I'm saying that's a sign of poor songwriting. Incorporating a repeating element across an album is fine, but shoehorning it in everywhere you can for the fuck's sake of it is a whole different story. It's understandable though, because core kids used to be a big part of the scene and that shit sold pretty well. Label shenanigans and all that jazz.
|
| |
I’m not saying it’s good songwriting. I just enjoy it and it was fun as fuck going to those concerts as a teen and I always thought AA was the best of that style of music. That’s all
