I slept so long on their 90s stuff. PTES and WFCC are absolute monster albums

Well if you enjoy JD a lot, I don't see the issue in following along chronologically after JD. The quality literally doesn't dip til Dusk. You Fail Me is easily their 2nd best imo. It's a phenomenal album and touches on different aspects of their sound (you can say the same about most of their records though lol). But yeah, they were a different band in the 90s. Cruder and less cohesive songwriting for sure. But with all that said, Petitioning the Empty Sky and When Forever Comes Crashing have a lot of Converge classics on display. Like The Saddest Day and The High Cost of Playing God, respectively.

Ben Koller has been tweeting and talking in interviews about new Converge material in the works. "we have a ton of stuff ready to go. We just need to get in the studio and sort of hash it out.". Color me hyped!
