I wish I dug it more bro. That being said, I'd take this 10 times out of 10 over OCHL. I do like this, its just not special how it is for most of you. First three are where its at for me.

heathen really is an all timer. that's how you still make an aggressive metal song that's still catchy as hell. soften the blasts and screams and it's a dreamy post-punk song. love the johnny marr esque guitar. god i love it.

another one of those post-punk influenced bangers. i love the way they weave those melodies in. the chorus one is just infectious. that's what makes this album so special to me.

#4 for me actually
Winona
Revelator
Amethyst
Body Behavior
Heathen
Doberman
Magnolia
Orange Tree
Garden Route
Orange Tree is a good closer, wouldn’t go out of my way to listen to it tho, Garden Route is just far and away my least favorite track here. Everything else is fucking excellent

that part in the chorus of body behavior where it briefly rolls into a blastbeat is so good. the drums on here are just great in general, never boring.

“Yeah if anything I wouldn’t add any tracks just pull the interludes and call it a day”
They’re pretty harmless imo. Could’ve been added as an intro to the songs after them, though as that’s essentially what they are. Incidental II is pretty stellar though
Body Behavior is awesome and one of the best tracks here. It’s so unique. Feels like moody post-punk with black metal vocals. I’d take it over something like Gifts for the Earth which kinda does something similar back on New Bermuda but I find this to be way better, more elevated version of that song.
My least favorite is Magnolia. Still a great song but it’s just more by the numbers for them. I find Revelator to be more thrilling in that regard but there’s nothing here less than absolutely amazing.
