'There are no weak parts on this album.' (2)
Sometimes I don't listen to this that much as I want to keep it fresh, nearly put it on the other day but went for Watershed instead. It's a blessing & a curse, mainly a blessing.

Idk guys. Black Rose Immortal is their longest songs and has nice parts, but feels more like a collection of riffs than a cohesive song. The album itself is good, but I'm not always in the mood for this. The songs just go on and on and on. It's hard even for prog standards

Although this is an issue often mentioned on here I never had a problem with the cohesiveness. For me it's simply a story told in different parts, and they fit together perfectly.

I concur, never had any issues with the length of BRI or the tracks in general. It flows impeccably & is one complete journey.

I get why someone would 5 this if these issues don't bother them haha

MAYH or GR for me, and sometimes this too. But top five or so are all insanely good.

Ghost Reveries is my fav but arguing best Opeth albums is pointless considering they have at least 5 flawless albums plus a few other really amazing ones imo lol.

Nice to see lots of GR love in recent times, didn't realise it was so well appreciated. I guess to someone who isn't a huge fan but can appreciate Opeth it just seems like 'more of the same'. It definitely has its own distinct flavour though & a very tasty one at that.

Agreed hard Demon. I think it's the best representation of their modern, most well known sound. A blast from beginning to end. It has no faults whatsoever for me. I still remember the moment it fully clicked with me, couldn't stop listening for weeks.

I had a kind of Opeth saturation when GR came out. I just couldn't contain more of their awesomeness and I hadn't fully digested their previous observations.
So yes it didn't click immediately.

It didn't for me either Egarran. But when it did, boy it clicked so hard my ears are still ringing.

Today was the day I was in the mood for this, it's fucking cold outside and a little rainy. This record definetly needs some time to be absorbed, but it is rewarding. Often I find myself listening more for the moment, because it has this spontaneous feel. That's really something unique

Yeah. Completely agree about that feeling of spontaneity on here. It's superb.
