I'm going in HARD on that leak tonight boys, I've already pre-ordered it and bought tickets to see them and I refuse to wait another day to hear it. Literally shaking RN.

A kind soul dropped a link on the Counterparts fan fb page (strangerposting). You should join it if you haven't already!

Got it as well. Very juicy so far, but who would expect otherwise?

I'll 5 it.

It's their best, and even with just one listen that's an easy call to make. The strongest elements from all albums are present here. The songwriting has never been stronger, and I'd say it's definitely their most emotive record. The feels are set to maximum. They do some new stuff too. I love most of their albums but there's usually a track or two that I'm not really big on. This was just front to back perfection. AOTY for me, no chance anything else reaches it.

I still disagree with the way they produced the vocals. Just leave them raw. When the vocals sound this way, the album inches closer to the genericore sound that I really don't want this band to fall under.

Rest of the album is amazing. What Mirrors Might Reflect, Flesh to Fill Your Wounds and A Mass Grave of Saints are all stellar tracks and already three of my favourites from this band.

Funny

Unwavering Vow only had me semi-stoked for the album

Then Whispers of Your Death came and somehow I appreciate Unwavering Vow more from it

Tbh this could be just as good as the last 2 records and if it is I'll have a beautiful big fay cry

Not overreacting when I say "What Mirrors Might Reflect" may just be their best song ever

Recency bias can be very powerful but I don't see myself changing my stance on this one. Love these guys but I've never really considered giving any of their albums a 5. This one was a no-brainer.

Sworn to Silence is an early favorite, I had to disrupt my initial listen to play it a 2nd time.
