‘Did I ever rate this? This was the only MV album I ever liked. Everything else was pretty bad IMO. I remember a buddy of mine coming over and putting on one of their newer albums for my brother and I. I think it was Amputechture.‘
Yeah that’s the stock ‘basic bitch’ TMV take, wait till you ascend and start to appreciate Amputechture (inevitably via the significantly more digestible Frances).

Teaser from earlier today, "The Mars Volta [The Reality of Dreams]". Could be new material like Cedric hinted at in 2019, but none of the articles seem to mention that the sound clip is the opening to "Son Et Lumiere", so it may also be a remix/rerecording of De-Loused.

Check out twitter comments for fan theories. Indeed it's "Son Et Lumiere", some people think the image that flashes on the screen is similar to cover of Frances, "realidad de tu sueño" is lyric from Concertina off Tremulant EP. So could be rereleases of old material, could be remix/rerecording of De-Loused due to the band being unhappy with the original production (I concur), or maybe it is fresh jams.

They’ve been teasing reissues for the last couple of years, I really hope 2021 is the year they act on it

Omar seems really pleased with Cloud Hill, so I could see him utilizing their studio to finally do so, DrGonzo. Indeed, robertsona, they updated their cover photo and profile pic

Don't want to get my hopes up, but someone on Comatorium forum said, “La Realidad De Los Sueños are 10 brand-new songs produced by Johann Scheerer and performed by The Mars Volta (Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, Cedric Bixler-Zavala, Leo Genovese, Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez, Eva Gardner, Deantoni Parks) and a variety of guest musicians.“

Did y'all know Juan played bass for Marilyn Mansons LP last year and replaced Twiggy for live bass since 2017?

I thought Juan got in a wreck andnis essentially brain dead. Am I wrong about this?!

From what I recall, Juan was in a bike accident that led to him being in a coma for several weeks, but I thought he got out and was healing. Idk, if that personnel is correct for a new LP, maybe that's why the original bassist Eva is playing rather than Juan, because he's physically impaired. Hope Juan is doing well

Also, if you listen to Dean Delray's interview with Omar, Omar calls Juan a sociopath, and doesn't really elaborate on it, so yeah i'd say he's not playing with them anytime soon, which sucks because he is ridiculously solid.

New songs?? With DeAntoni Parks???? I fucking sooo hope that is true. While Noctourniquet is nowhere near their first 4 albums as a whole, it's a great album. But: it would be a freakin train wreck without that monstruously insane drumming.
So new songs with Parks would be the absolute best case scenarion, uber stoked!!
