I don't buy into Elseq and NTS. I mean these guys barely managed 5 hours of truly great music across their whole discography and now they’re masters of the infinite album? Please. They’re good enough (great, at times) improvisations wrapped around a badass leitmotif, but let’s not kid ourselves that this is some grand evolution for Autechre and is in any way better than the old stuff. It's just Ae stretched for hipsters edition. Exai demonstrates genuine musical composition and structural intention rather than serving solely as technical genius flex.
