As somebody who grew up so much with Rush and has them as my favorite band, The Garden makes me tear up a bit whenever I hear it. It's such a beautiful way to close a career

| |
Album Rating: 5.0
yeah i don't know what i was thinking Davil......there is an emotional tie to my rating as I realize that this is their final recording.......i figured they would've at least recorded something but you know what, sometimes it's better to leave well enough alone......just adds to the bands allure with how powerful this one is
Plebbro it's becoming the best album ever all over for me again in profound fashion

Finally got into Rush after many, many attempts. This is the first album of theirs to really click with me, The Garden is a phenomenal closing track.

Pretty much. There's the straightforward hard rock with minor prog influences with their first two albums, the 1976-1981 classic prog era, the 1982-1989 new wave/synth era, the 1990s midtempo alt/prog sound, and then finally the 2000s progressive hard rock/metal stuff that really amps up the guitars.

very solid breakdown Brendan
perhaps the 'new wave' is a bit of a stretch though

I'll check out Moving Pictures next I think. While it's sad to see them calling it a day, this was a stellar album to go out on.
