Disc 1 of Mellon Collie is near perfection, disc 2 is more inconsistent for me though.

Catching up on this band. Only ever heard singles/random songs over the years. This album is absolutely brilliant, which from the looks of it is already very well known. Mellon Collie is close behind, then I really like Oceania.

Glad you're loving this Sowing, better late than never.

Boney, this album is a masterpiece and better than Mellon Collie, you'll adore this.

Yeah Dylan this is one of those albums I'm certain I'll love but have just never gotten around to.

"I met someone once who had literally never heard of the Beatles"

How is this even possible

Like I know people who couldn't name a Beatles song but to never have even heard of them...

You really tapped into their more formidable material. Mellon Collie is obviously their more mainstream sledgehammer, while this one is a bit of a sleeper because of its age but is just as well put together as MC. Oceania, however, is probably one of their best albums but may be constantly overlooked because of the disconnect with fans created by disbanding and reforming (not to mention the swing&miss Zeitgeist).

Outside of this, I'm a massive fan of Machina/The Machines of God. Adore was good in certain respects, but I felt like Machina really refined the pertinent ideas within Adore to make a solid record full of experimentation, emotion and class act Billy Corgan-ness.

Everything about this is perfect. Just reheard it and found literally zero flaws. Top 3 ever for me. I have loved very few albums as much as this one.
