Been seeing some decent buzz on that S. Carey album (hopefully the lukewarm P4k review today doesn’t impact its recpetion too much), might check it out.

Lucid it’s my sort of brand of corny - I gave the similar Ry X album a 4/5

Alright, that new S. Carey is probably a better listen than this is, though it would sound almost like too much of a ripoff if the guy weren't actually in this band.

New S. Carey is a flourishing and gorgeous folk album, but IMO the middle is a bit weak and he sings far too much on the record to allow the actual music to breathe. It might be his best album - either that or Range of Light - but it doesn't top any of the Bon Iver albums.

Among the Bon Iver discog For Emma is the only one I really vibe with, and even that only at a 4/5 level.

Looks like on record he doesn't do a whole ton but he's a full member of the live lineup.

Oh fuck I didn't know it was THIS Sean Carey! He was the first to join Vernon when Bon Iver was only himself I think. I am gonna jam his thing asap. Didn't know he had solo material too.

Carey has a pretty strong vocal presence on this and 22AM, you can hear him harmonising with Justin all over Strafford APTS and Holocene for example

his new one is... nice, still waiting for it to grab me
