its just one of those really boring 'emotional' songs where there is so little going on instrumentally and so much repetition in the actual songwriting/lyrics that its just an absolute slog.
its the 2011 equivalent of All of Me or Say Something.

idk, i like the instrumentation, it's so obviously, unapologetically mellow. maybe it's her rich voice that makes me see past that, cuz i don't see it as a boring song, idk.
but the lyrics are great. they're really understated in their usage of cliché phrases, but it's the little twists that make them rise above. the line "who do you think you are?" still strikes me as original and well-timed, so precisely, down to the second, especially on its closing

I suppose, for me its just another drop in the mellow barrel that tends to pop up every now and then. the rest of lovestrong. was just a lot more powerful for me.

"the lonely" is just as great, but going through the more swinging songs of the album, "arms" and "bang bang bang" stand out, i can't remember much of the album tbh tho it's great
